Guarantee & Non-Breeding Agreement

Applicable only to the original Purchaser _________________________ of the
Puppy ___________________________ .

Lone Wind Kennels guarantees our puppies from the time they leave our home against the following hereditary diseases, up to the age of 24 months:

1. Hip Dysplasia
2. Hereditary Juvenile Cataracts or PRA.

All Lone Wind breeding stock is x-ray certified and cleared of hip and elbow dysplasia. Hip dysplasia is one of the leading problems in large dogs, such as labs. It is impossible to guarantee that no pup will ever have it later in life, but we have done everything possible to reduce the odds of it being a factor in your pup. Also, each parent’s eyes are cleared of cataracts and P.R.A.

If your dog is diagnosed with hip dysplasia (not elbow dysplasia) or a genetic eye disease such as P.R.A., and it has been confirmed by a veterinarian, we will give you, the original owners one of two options:

1. We will allow you to keep your dog as long as the condition is not so severe as to cause daily pain or discomfort. If you choose, we will replace, at our discretion, your pup with another same sex pup from a future litter.

2. If you choose not to take a pup from one of our next litters, we will refund 50% of the purchase price of the puppy.

All vet expenses for x-rays and all examinations are to be paid for by the owner.

Under no circumstances will we be responsible for the death of a puppy due to the following causes:

1. Accidental death however caused.
2. Death caused by communicable disease.
3. Any other causes of death which cannot be directly attributed to negligence on the part of the breeder.

The puppy is sold with a non-breeding contract. If the buyer decides to use the dog for breeding, the non-breeding contract can be cancelled if the dog is certified clear of hip and elbow dysplasia by Penn-Hip, OVC or OFA and the eyes cleared by a certified opthamologist.

For all male and female dogs whose non-breeding contract has been cancelled upon fulfilling the requirements outlined in the above statement, we, the breeder, will be entitled to select one puppy of our choice, free of charge from the first litter whelped, or, the price of one puppy will be remitted to us.

You hereby agree that you will not breed the dog that was purchased from Lone Wind Labradors unless our non-breeding agreement covering this dog is legally cancelled. If you fail to comply with the above, and breed the dog intentionally or accidentally, you will compensate us no less than $1,000.00 for each pup produced by breeding.

The purchaser also agrees that the puppy/dog must at all times throughout its life be provided with proper feeding, housing and exercise. Leaving the dog tied on a leash or crated for extreme lengths of time is strictly forbidden. Failure to provide proper and humane care for this puppy/dog will result in charges and the breeder taking back the dog for placement elsewhere with no monetary consideration to the offender.

Should something change that you are unable to keep your lab, we at Lonewind are entitled to first right of refusal for the transfer of ownership back to us. In this event, we will render no payment to you. In return, we will assume all costs in boarding, advertising, and meeting with potential owners to place your lab in the home best suited to meet his needs and to make him the happiest pet possible. However, if we refuse the transfer, we reserve the right to approve another owner.

The “Breeder Reports” concerning the puppy’s development must be submitted in order for this guarantee to be valid. Failure to submit will void our guarantee though the non-breed agreement will continue to be binding..
